Yay! This month is Spring! How in the heck did it get to be March so quickly?
Don't forget - this Wednesday, March 4th from 5:30-7:30 PM the full quartet will be back at North Street Cabaret for a fundraiser for Jazz at Five. Steve Lewis will be back on bass - Steve absolutely killed his jazz debut with us at Harmony Bar in December. And introducing Brian Howard on drums! Brian is a staple of the Madison music scene, playing regularly with Paul Filipowicz. We're very happy to have him on board! Suggested donation is $20 at the door. We'd love to see you there!
I'm VERY excited to announce that the Marisa Balistreri Quartet will be making our debut at Festa Italia this year on May 30th from 3:00- 4:30 PM at McKee Farms Park in Fitchburg. Steve and Brian will once again be joining us for that event. You've got until then to learn some basic Italian because I'm going full Italiana for it! Also, on March 24th Stefan and I are honored to play a private event from 1:30- 2:30 PM for the residents of Madison Health and Rehabilitation Center.
This past month, Stefan and I had an AMAZING time playing at the Cave of the Mounds' Valentine's Day event “Love on the Rocks”. The cave was damp, dark and humid and the acoustics were oh so gorgeous! Thank you to the whole staff for being so lovely to us! We also really enjoyed performing for the residents of Oakwood East on February 6th as part of their Opening Ceremony festivities for the Olympics. What a great audience!
I'm still behind on our single release schedule, but our CD, is still available at Frugal Muse Books for $10! Just ask at the register. I'm hoping to release “Hear Me” next - a song about loving your neighbor. We believe in that song and feel it's more important than ever. I should have more time in April to give it proper promotion.
