MARISA BALISTRERI

A Madison, WI native, Marisa Balistreri received her B.A. from the University Wisconsin-Madison in Theatre and Drama (Specialist in Acting) and Psychology, and her A.R.C.T Diploma in Vocal Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, Canada. A former professional opera singer, Marisa has performed at the Teatro dell’ Opera di Roma, Il Festivale di Ravenna, the Cairo Opera House and on Holland America Line. After many years abroad in Italy, and several years of forging her skills in the fires of NYC, Marisa chose to come home to Wisconsin to be closer to family. To try to impress her future husband, she switched to jazz where she now feels the most comfortable musically. She has sung with several jazz ensembles in venues such as Cafe CODA and Harmony Bar in Madison, WI, Bremen Cafe in Milwaukee, WI, Gibson Music Hall and Deja Vu in Appleton, WI and The Weidner Center for the Performing Arts  in Green Bay, WI.

STEFAN HALL

Guitar/ Composition

One of 1352 guitar pickers from the Nashville, TN area, Stefan Hall received his B.A. from Austin Peay University in English and his M.A. and PhD from St. Louis University in Medieval Language and Literature. Since the early 1990s, Stefan has gigged steadily both as a solo guitarist and in various Jazz, Latin Jazz,  Jazz Manouche, Blues, and Folk ensembles. He was a regular member of the Gypsy Trip ensemble and the University of Wisconsin Green Bay Faculty Jazz Ensemble from 2006-2017 and taught jazz guitar lessons for the university during that period. In addition to numerous private engagements, coffee-shop and restaurant gigs, and arts and music festivals, he has played the Sheldon Concert Hall in St. Louis. MO the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts, the Meyer Theatre in Green Bay, WI, Cafe CODA and Harmony Bar in Madison, WI and the Gibson Music Hall in Appleton, WI.
